Phone call this morning from Gemma's placement

having had a number of phone calls this wk and meetings- they are closing her bed.
this is because the managers who have agreed to pay have not paid a bean.

utter catastrophe.

i am in pieces. howled all over the poor GP when he came, I cannot bloody move and yet its me sorting this out as it is someone elses job who is ABLE TO WORK and is not emotionally involved.

i dont know what is going to happen

Off to have another cry

Im on the phone to everyone SS, health, anyone. its like woolworths in the 80s "not my department". Well, Gemma is MY department and they are not doing this. THEY ARE NOT.

MY MP seems rather busy this afternoon (just been re-elected thank God) but his office have been in touch with the heads of finance.

waiting for a response now but with so many press conferences in the next wk or so MP has made it clear he is willing to make an example of them, he will do it if he has to.

In the meantime the TC have explained they are trying to find a way through for Gems to remain for at least a few more days until matters resolve.

They are owed a fortune.

It is bad enough but physically, Im so poorly and Im just not able to fight the same as someone fit could today.

What a day this is being.

Oh Jenni, as if you needed this!
I hope and pray that this can be sorted soon, and that Gemma can stay where she is until then, that is so important that she is not moved from there.

Love and hugs, Doreen xx

Hi Jenni

I don t know the ins and outs of all this but can fully understand something is seriously wrong here and you shouldn t be going through all this. We all know stress and worry doesn t help us at all, and you are so poorly just at the moment.

Thinking of you, Julia xx

How on earth can this happen?

It is unacceptable and inappropriate to treat a young girl with such difficult problems in this way (never mind her family). If you treated an animal like this you would be in big trouble. These bureaucrats have absolutely no compassion and must have been at the end of the queue when brains were handed out. As for common sense and decency ...

As Barbara has said "it has been agreed". End of, they ought to damn well get onto the people who haven't paid up not you!! Do hope Gemma is okay in all this.

Anything at all I can do please let me know. Take care Jenni, do keep us posted,

this is appalling after all their promises, and then to expect you to sort it out. SO infuriating that they can do this too a vulnerable youngster, AND her family. Hugs, L

Hello Jenni

This is so awful for you all. You fought for her so much to get her a place and from what you've told us she seemed to of settled in so well.

I can't beleive that they have put you in this postion, it was agreed that it would be funded, so funded it should of been.

The stress of this as obviously affected you. How DARE they do this to you.

Hope that something can be sorted out soon.

Sending you all love

O Jenni i just caught up on this - is there any way we can help, there must be something....

Will have a deep think about this, you just cannot be expected to face this without some excellent support......
If you think of anything please just let us know - straight away

Jenni, do you have access to advocacy services?
They could be very helpful - either on behalf of Gem OR yourself especially with the potential impact this may have upon your health.
OR an advocate each....
....strength in numbers....

Please let me know if I can help in any way big or small, i wish I lived nearer - then I could be your advocate......

This situation is just unacceptable but it WILL be sorted,

Could we start a petition, persuade your MP to get involved.........?

Take care, stay in touch,

With lots of love Liz xxxxx

Oh deat Jenni - I just can't believe this is happening - it's no wonder you are so ill with all the emotional turmoil of Gemma's placement let alone finding out it isn't bee paid for. Am thinking of you and hope you can get some help in sorting this out.

Interestingly enough the LA has placed 2 young ladies with the TC in the past and they have had nothing like this problem.

this is because they are LAC- ie children in the care system (different departments etc).

MY MP is rather busy at the moment (sorting out the next government or something minor...) but he has been on his blackberry. His office have faced the finance offices of the LA and NHS on his behalf and also sent a copy of notice of constituency press conference with a space highlighted under AOB....

Funnily enough the faxes have been flying into the TC and they should have the moneys by the middle of the wk. Not even cheque, but direct transfer. One body are paying, the other are not (and should be) but it looks like this can be chased later- frankly i dont give a monkeys as long as they pay. You would think it was their own wages...
Gemma is just her, well, "her". Everything as it should be at the TC.

Jenni

PS Strange message from post adoption "Do not under any circumstances collect Gemma from the TC" hmmmmmmmm????
